Charitable Giving Survey Results

Island Global Research is pleased to announce that the Charitable Giving survey results are now available to download for free. The Charitable Giving survey was undertaken in Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man in December 2017 & January 2018. We hope that Islanders find the results interesting and that they are specially useful for islanders who support and work with charitable organisations. The results are very positive for charities based in the Crown Dependencies, in that they demonstrate considerable good will with overwhelming support for local, potentially smaller, charities. The survey findings may be helpful for charities considering how to improve their support base.

Guernsey Retail Survey

The States of Guernsey have published the results of the retail survey conducted by Island Global Research, on behalf of The Committee for Economic Development. The States have said:

“The Committee for Economic Development is providing retailers in Guernsey with a wealth of information on local consumer habits and preferences, with the publication of the results of the Retail Survey.

The survey, carried out for the Committee by Island Global Research, collected the views of more than 900 Guernsey residents on the retail experience offered both on-island and online, how they make purchase decisions, and how the sector may best meet their shopping needs.

The Committee is using the findings to inform its approach to the retail sector, and is circulating the results to businesses on its retailer database, and publishing them more widely online, so that businesses can also benefit from the data gathered.”

The team here at Island Global Research would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of those participated in the survey at the end of last year. We really appreciate your feedback on retail in Guernsey and hope you find the results interesting.

Serious lessons from JT’s cable break

Business Brief magazine draws on analysis from the Island Global Research Infrastructure Monitor for the article ‘Serious lessons from JT’s cable break’ –

“At best, the effective lifecycle of such a facility may be just ten years as compared with fifty years in the 20th century. This concept is being developed by Island Global Research, and its Infrastructure Monitor poses these thoughts: If we take road networks, what will the impact be of driverless vehicles in the future or other evolving innovations in transport? How will home working and the inevitable use of robots affect the demand for office accommodation and factories?” – By Peter Porter
